What is Well-Developed Group Identity based on the Character of Christ?
When you know who you are you know what to do! - @craiggroeschel
Does your group know who they are in relation to one another? What does it look like to live in and as your group? How do you treat one another? How do you love? How do you act when together? How do you have tough conversations? How do you challenge one another?
We become like those we spend most of our time with... so this idea of group identity is key in forming you spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically.
A well-formed group identity also promotes and cultivates trust and safe spaces for our mental and emotional wellbeing. These types of communities speak life into one another and remind one another of who they are. Because it's often when we forget who we are, we don't know what to do... or act like our true selves. I use a well established group identity with my kids and often remind them they are a child of God and a Phelps... this is who we are and how we live.
✌ Do you see this in your community? Family? What have you done to instill a well established group identity?
