Houston’s Folk-Rock/Americana Duo
One Original. One Cover.
In the summer of 2020, we took a trip across the country to the Blue Ridge Mountains outside of Asheville, NC. We had recently written a new song, “Family to Family,” and since there was a guitar laying around at our AirBnB, we decided to make a home-made music video. Our daughter Bella shot and edited the video.
With the 2020 COVID Pandemic, we jumped on the bandwagon of online concerts, so here is one of our favorites shot from our backyard in Houston. We danced to this song at our wedding. “Argue With Heaven” by David Ramirez.

Ashley.
Ashley has worked as a professional actor and singer since 2010, including several summer contracts at Theatre West Virginia and a number of productions in Houston. She double majored in music and theatre from Greensboro College in Greensboro, NC. Believe it or not, she does not care for writing music much, which is why she basically fixes everything Jason writes.
Fun Fact: She has sung the National Anthem at three major league ballparks; for the Washington Nationals, Baltimore Orioles, & the Houston Astros.
Jason.
Jason has been writing music, leading worship, and performing since the late '90s. He does most of the songwriting for The Homesteaders; his influences range from Dispatch to Jack Johnson, David Ramirez to Old Crow Medicine Show. Aside from The Homesteaders, he develops leaders in their character and calling to live a fully-alive life, designs digital content, and enjoys brewing beer.
Fun Fact: He has unusually large calf muscles.
