Healthy Leaders are Whole Brain Leaders

Healthy Leaders = Whole Brain Leaders. What does this mean?

Many leaders tend to focus just on solving problems (Left Brain). This may be why you were, yourself, promoted; you can solve problems. But what happens when we turn people into a problem to be solved? Engagement plunders.

Keeping people more important than the problem is a result of emotional maturity and healthy executive functioning (Right Brain).

Under stress and negative emotions, a healthy and whole brain leader [a RARE Leader] will be able to REMAIN RELATIONAL, ACT LIKE THEIR TRUE SELF, RETURN TO JOY QUICKLY, AND ENSURE HARDSHIP WELL.

The result? A healthy leader who creates engagement (RB) in what matters (LB).

In the book #RareLeadership by Marcus Warner and Jim Wilder, they make the case that YOU ARE ALWAYS YOUR BEST SELF WHEN YOU KEEP RELATIONSHIPS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE PROBLEM.

Reflect on these questions:

Under stress and overwhelm…
🧠 Do I remain relational or do I avoid and withdraw?
🧠 Do I act like my true self rooted in joy?
🧠 Do I return to joy quickly or remain hi-jacked emotionally?
🧠 Do I endure hardship well by living out the three above and carry the weight of those who can’t suffer “as well” as I can?

🔥How might becoming a RARE Leader change your personal/professional life for the better?

Cheers to a healthier week!
